The more than two-century-old Colorado Chautauqua is a national historic landmark and one of the most interesting and unique venues in Boulder County. The Chautauqua offers concerts and shows in its 120-year-old auditorium as well as outdoor adventures, cozy accommodations for a weekend getaway, an old-fashioned general store, and delicious food in its dining hall.
Take in supper and a show at Boulder’s Dinner Theatre. The theatre has a selection of theatrical presentations featuring the songs of famous musical artists as well as plays and musicals, all served up for your viewing pleasure, along with a menu of tasty appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
You might want to call ahead and reserve a slice if you want to visit the popular Rosalee’s Pizzeria located in Longmont, a community northeast of Boulder. Maybe it's the ambiance in this tiny east coast style pizza place, or maybe it's that they make their sauce and sausage in-house and grate their mozzarella fresh, but whatever their secret, Rosalee’s is a Boulder County treasure.
In the charming town of Louisville, you will find The Huckleberry, a classic American eatery. This place is a veritable feast for the senses with their baked goods, afternoon tea, breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections, along with their fine wine and cocktail list. This staple of the community has catering options as well and is known as one of many restaurants in the county to produce their own ingredients at their local farm.

The towns in Boulder County have a reputation for being community-focused and offering year-round events for both individuals and families.
Applefest at Ya Ya Farm and Orchard near the town of Longmont is a favorite fall festival and sure to become one of your family’s favorite ways to celebrate the season. With one ticket, you’ll get a plate of scrumptious BBQ from a local restaurant, apple cider donuts, live music from a bluegrass band, and unlimited hayrides.
Every summer offers you the chance to get down with the bard on the beautiful and historic University of Colorado Boulder campus during the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. With new productions each year from this professional theatre company, the festival gives just a taste of the cultural attractions found in this vibrant community.
Another cultural institution is the Boulder International Film Festival, which brings films and filmmakers from around the world together to celebrate the art of cinema. The festival features a wide variety of offerings and has shown multiple oscar-winning films over the years.
With the Boulder area focus on fitness, it is no wonder that one of the many Ironman competitions is held in Boulder each year. The Ironman 70.3 Boulder is a triathlon that takes advantage of Boulder’s reputation for being an outdoor playground for endurance athletes.
